Douglas Ackerman

Executive Director

Douglas Ackerman, executive director, is responsible for leading the Florida Department of Citrus in marketing, research and regulatory activities to enhance the economic well-being of the Florida citrus grower, citrus industry and the State of Florida. 

Ackerman has 17 years of experience in strategic brand marketing, demand generation, advertising and integrated marketing communications in retail and foodservice. Most recently, he served as Category Marketing Manager at Publix Super Markets for nearly seven years.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tampa and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
