The Scientific Research Department seeks to discover more efficient citrus production and handling processes; monitors industry compliance of orange juice regulations; identifies issues that may affect the Florida citrus industry; and explores the health benefits of Florida citrus to support marketing messages.
Dan King, Ph.D. heads up a team of 13 researchers and scientists who are based at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in Lake Alfred, FL.
